I'll have to refer you to the pilot-link mailing lists I'm
afraid. Maybe you can do a transfer with pilot-link debugging?:

        export PILOT_DEBUG="DEV SLP CMP PADP SOCK"
        export PILOT_DEBUG_LEVEL="DEBUG"
        export PILOT_LOG=1  # Set this to 0 to disable debugging
        export PILOT_LOGFILE="pilot-link-debug.log"

That might show which record is giving trouble. Maybe also try with
different transports, like USB, or over the network? For what it's
worth, I always use network syncs (over Wifi) as they are the most
convenient :-)
