Do you want it to be able to build elsewhere? Have there been other
requests? I only came across it because I only had my laptop for a few
hours yesterday while I was doing some development and it's a Mac.

Where do the signatures end up if dbhash isn't used? I tried turning it
off and it seems that everything is now stored in .sconsign.dblite by
default.
